I placed an order for a new Ryzen 7 5800X3D processor. I also switched to a different case and transferred all components to it. The issue now is that my system fails to boot completely. After finishing the setup, I noticed several lights: initially a yellow LED (indicating a DRAM problem from the manual), followed by a red one (suggesting a CPU fault) also mentioned in the manual. Both lights flash for about 1 to 2 seconds. Once the system starts, it displays the UEFI prompt and either gets stuck if I press F2 promptly or opens the BIOS menu; otherwise, the Windows logo appears endlessly. This behavior is confusing because the situation changes frequently. Initially, the new CPU recognized by pressing F1 during setup, then the BIOS began (and I observed that my 3200MHz RAM dropped to 2400MHz), followed by a restart with either the Windows logo or an infinite UEFI window. It’s quite unusual and frustrating. After three seconds of pressing F2 or deleting the menu, nothing happens. I suspect the motherboard might be faulty. Before replacing it, I wanted to explore possible solutions. I tried removing the CMOS, checking all power connections, inspecting the CPU socket for thermal paste or dust (found none, cleaned it), using an older CPU, updating the BIOS via Ez Flash 3, using only one DIMM slot, enabling boot override with an NVMe SSD (system partition), and setting up the system. The setup process used: Asus B450-F Gaming, AMD Ryzen 7 5800X3D new, 7 2700X old, Gigabyte RX 5700 XT, 2 x NVMe M.2 1TB/512GB, one SSD 250GB, one HDD 1TB, two 16GB Kingston Fury 3200MHz, Bequiet Straight Power 11 850W, and Bequiet Dark Rock Pro 4 250W TDP.

It seems you're referring to a potential issue with a short or an additional mounting point near the back panel or under the motherboard.

I removed the device from the PC case and checked if the case was the issue (quick test?), but it doesn’t seem to be. I just got a new B550-f gaming card. The same thing happens — first orange light, then red light, then white. The VGA light stays steady during boot, but before it turns orange and red I’m not forcing a boot. It just gets stuck again.

didn’t alter anything. I put the MMO back into the case, it confirmed the new CPU, checked if TPM was active (selected Y because it wasn’t), the MMO lights came on one by one, the boot indicator activated, the Windows logo appeared, then it loaded briefly before going black.
