The questionprinter causes the main monitor to shut down.
I own a Canon/hp C1860fw printer.
When turned off, everything functions properly.
When turned on without doing anything, my main monitor (LG C1) shuts down.
Soon after it restarts, this happens repeatedly every 1-2 minutes; quite bothersome.
I can still print normally.
If I turn off the printer, it works fine.
It is connected only via USB.
Even when the USB cable is removed, the printer continues to turn off the main display.
I believe I reinstalled the drivers recently.
For now, I just shut it down until I need to print.
Any idea what might be happening?
The LG48"tv is connected to an ASUS 3070.
Driver is up to date.
The Printer is connected to the wall outlet.
I could mention that everything functioned properly a few weeks back.
The main maintenance involved a Windows update.
When the printer starts up, it might experience a power spike.
However, once it’s idle, nothing happens. The specifications indicate 50w in standby mode.
I’ll check if using a separate power supply makes a difference.
Update... I believe we’ve found something.
I linked the printer’s power through an extension cord to another circuit.
So far, everything is working fine.
I’ll need to dig through the tangled cables behind the monitors, UPS, PC, and surge protector to understand what’s going on. UGH!!!
Looking back, it seems the TV is connected to the UPS for backup power.
I remember the setup handled a power outage correctly.
Yep.
Too much stuff on one circuit.
As said, laser printers are notorious for big startup power needs.
