i was attempting to manage my pc by unplugging several components, including the gpu, cpu, mobo, sata, and almost all cables except the cpu fan. now, when trying to boot, the pc isn’t turning on at all. despite having two years of experience and never encountering this issue before, i’ve tried shorting the power pins, but nothing worked. i’d like to identify any potential causes, even minor ones, that might have contributed to this problem. thank you.

The PSU is rated at 650W. Could you share the brand, model, and age of the device? Regarding cable organization, consider providing pictures showing your setup. Be cautious—wires connecting the motherboard tray to the board's underside may get pinched, potentially causing shorts in components.

It's a real raval rv 650 – I know you shouldn't buy cheap PSUs, but that was just the budget and I'm already planning an upgrade soon. I'll post the pictures later.
Edit: I can't post pictures either, and the PSU isn't modular.
You need to upload your pictures to a platform similar to Imgur and then share a like for them here so we can view them.
I assume you've reconnected all the important PSU cables:
1). 24-pin mobo
2). 4 or 8-pin CPU +12V power
3). GPU PCIe +12V power
4). Any SATA hard disks or SSDs
5). Front panel power switch - can be confused with the Reset switch or front panel LEDs. The printed legends on the mobo front panel header may be difficult to interpret.
Then there's the mains cable plugged into the back of the PSU, which of course must be connected to a working mains outlet. Test with a similar system to see if mains is present. The mains switch on the PSU has already been mentioned by

Did you short circuit the two pins on the motherboard header or somewhere else?
If all the PSU cables are in situ and there are no trapped leads, short circuits or broken wires, now's the time to start swapping components.
I have owned a number of low quality PSU, some of which are still working, but your 650W unit is one third the price of anything I would buy these days. It may have died.
Your PSU is the first thing I'd change. If you can borrow a known working unit from a relative, friend or computer shop,, give it a try.
