I just upgraded my GPU to a 4070Ti Super OC, but when I connected the cable I saw it listed as 300 watts instead of 600 watts. My GPU is actually drawing 285 watts. Is this normal? Should I switch to the dual 8-pin version into the 12V adapter? What will happen if my GPU exceeds 300 watts?

it's a thermaltake gf3 850 watt gold model, but i'm unsure about the number of connectors since it's connected to the power source.

The GPU has the capability to utilize 75 watts from the PCIe port. Using a 300-watt 12VHPWR cable provides a combined capacity of 375 watts for the GPU.

oh yeah, I also saw that 300/600 watt cables are made exactly alike, and if the 300 watt one didn’t work, the GPU wouldn’t boot up. Hope that’s correct.
