Lately, my computer has been unexpectedly shutting down while I'm using certain games. This specifically occurs with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Minecraft. The system will lose power briefly, only to restart immediately after, seemingly without any issues upon rebooting. This isn’t caused by overheating, as my graphics card and processor consistently maintain temperatures of approximately 50 degrees Celsius during gameplay. Here are my system specifications: an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060, Intel Core i5-8600k, an Evga White 600w power supply, a Cryorig H7 CPU cooler, and two Corsair red case fans.

The problem could potentially originate from your power supply unit, particularly when experiencing issues within games. I recommend using HWInfo, a free program, to monitor your PSU’s voltage levels. Specifically, observe the +12, +5 and +3.3 voltages. Ideally, these should remain within 5% of their target values. While the software might display acceptable readings during periods of inactivity, voltage fluctuations can occur when running demanding applications. Therefore, execute HWInfo, minimize it to the background, and then launch a game. After completing the game session, examine the highest and lowest voltages recorded to ensure they are not exceeding 5% deviation from their expected range. You’re more likely to detect lower voltage discrepancies than higher ones.
