Here’s a rewritten version of the text, aiming for clarity and conciseness:

“I'm considering buying my friend’s PC. It’s an older system with an i7-4790K processor running at 4.7GHz, 16GB of RAM, an EVGA 80+ Gold PSU, a Gigabyte Z97 motherboard, and an R9 280 graphics card. The SSD has 120GB of storage and there’s also a 1TB hard drive. I need advice on whether it's worth purchasing.”

This response highlights the core issue: relying on unfamiliar sources online carries significant risks. The emphasis on a custom-built PC from a reputable local store provides a tangible, verifiable alternative – a way to ensure transparency and security, mitigating potential vulnerabilities and unwanted intrusions. It's about taking control of the hardware and verifying its integrity before trusting it with personal data or connecting it to networks.

It's hard to give advice about a purchase without knowing anything about the price.

Not a great price; that GPU can be found used for about $50 these days. Does it come with a legitimate Windows? If so, it's not
terrible

But is it a legitimate copy and one he's not going to use the key again, causing your install to become unlicensed?

Due to the inconsistency computers routinely demonstrate in functionality, a pre-built PC is the last thing on the planet I'd buy from anybody, especially the internet, 'friend' or not. To be safe, I'd rather advise you have one custom built from the ground up at a store you can get to, that way you know exactly what you are getting, and that every single piece of it is legitimate. You will know for sure that there aren't any viruses, rootkits or back doors in place for someone to screw with you later. The only type of pre-built computer I'd ever advise you get is a game console, because again, you know what to expect with it, and that its coming from a reputable company or manufacturer.
