My 9700x is at stock. During Prime95 testing, temperatures reach about 55°C with peak power usage near 88W. Initially, clock speed stays around 5GHz for a few minutes, briefly reaching up to 5.4GHz. After that, it gradually decreases to as low as 3.8GHz before rising again to 4.7-4.8GHz. When the CPU slows down, voltage also drops slightly to 0.95V. Is this typical? I also ran a PassMark test and my score is just below the benchmark, so it seems fine.

3.8GHz works properly when fully loaded without PBO

Ok good to hear. Since max turbo is 5.5, I was expecting to see that as long as there is temperature headroom . I will turn on pbo and see how it goes.
