The question about whether a headphone splitter degrades sound quality.
I have a Sennheiser PC38X and there is a 3.5mm cable available for the front of my PC, as well as a splitter that connects to the back. However, the splitter seems to be of lower quality compared to the 3.5mm connection. Is there a solution to this issue? Did I overlook something? I've heard the splitter is meant to perform better.
Have you attempted connecting the standard 3.5 cable straight into the back of the PC without using the splitter? The splitter merely connects the pink (microphone) and green (audio) ports. If the audio quality enhances, consider purchasing a new cable. If not, then your built-in audio system may be the issue.
I haven't tried that, I didn't see a port for 3.5mm in the back. It seems the cable included should be of good quality for the headphones. Thanks for the advice
