I'm a complete idiot who didn't uninstall my MSI GEforce RTX 3090 graphics card when I moved, and now after trying it out the DP ports all give extremely blurry output. I thought it was completely broken until I tried the HDMI port and it works perfectly. Most of the time I can clearly see the loading and bios screens (I don't think that's the CPU display since I have an F series), but things become blurry only when Windows boots up.

Once or twice I managed to see the Windows output clearly for a while before it started corrupting and became blurry again. This is complicated because I already had minor blurry issues on one of the monitors before moving. It would appear from the bottom of the screen at any boot or idle, but it disappears quickly.

I read it's a common problem with my VIOTEK GN32Q monitors. So maybe this is more about them than my graphics card. But it still doesn't really explain why the issue worsened so much and affected both monitors at once, which makes me think it's related to the graphics card itself. Maybe I bent something in it during the move, but then why would only the display drivers stop working? Could it be that the card isn't getting enough power now, like a loose cable? But then again, why would the HDMI port still function properly?

I can't figure out how to connect a picture here, but I linked the output you saw below:

What I've tried so far hasn't helped:
- Reseating the card on the motherboard (ASUS TUF Gaming Z590)
- Testing different display ports with various cables
- Updating graphics card drivers
- Lowering the refresh rate on my monitors (only options are 59 or 60, which it seems can't be changed)
I really like gaming and the card only has one HDMI port for multiple monitors, so I'm definitely interested in fixing this if possible. What further steps would you recommend? Thanks a lot!

Your screen has a DVI port. Does that connection function properly? Consider using a DVI/HDMI adapter. Test with another monitor. Check the display cable as well.

The main step should be to obtain a screen with a reliable DisplayPort connection and a verified cable, starting from there. It's also possible the issue lies with your screen or GPU.

Hey everyone! I'm planning to get a DVI cable with an HDMI adapter for testing and a new display port cable, but I only have access to one monitor for now. Should I consider buying one with the hope of returning it later?

I disabled auto-sleep and kept the monitor on for a while, and gradually the strange lines disappeared. O_O I think I’ll just keep it on indefinitely now.
