Check your connection speed with a quick online test. It shows latency in milliseconds.
Hi, thank you for your patience. Here are the details: 1. Using the LAN cable to my repeater (image 1). 2. Connecting via WiFi to my original router (image 2). P.S.: When my laptop heats up—especially while gaming—the WiFi connection becomes much slower than expected. You can notice it takes longer for high speeds to stabilize, whereas the LAN connection reaches speed almost instantly.
The distance from the router affects performance, but the issue might stem from other factors. 1) Your device may lack sufficient power for the signal. 2) The antenna connection could be loose or improperly set up.
I'm essentially just one wall away and roughly four meters from it. However, on my phone I'm receiving a much stronger signal, though still not as good as the LAN connection, but improved compared to the previous test photo.
I don't connect to the repeater's Wi-Fi. Right now, I'm treating it like a large Wi-Fi adapter.
Consider using Wi-Fi instead, as it should be noticeably different from plugging in. It would be better if my laptop had fewer cables attached, particularly if I move it often—speed might drop during setup. The repeater part of me thinks there could be an issue with your upload speed, maybe the antenna is loose.
I agree with that as well. However, I'm noticing the LAN link to the repeater works much quicker than a direct WiFi connection to either the repeater or the main router. Since I'm not moving much, it's not a big concern. Especially during games, the WiFi sometimes drops unexpectedly (maybe overheating?). Laptop via cable connects to the repeater, then to the main router, which connects to the modem. This is how my setup currently functions.
