I'm about halfway through my Hardcore run in RE Village, starting over this time. I'm trying to see if tackling all the optional bosses will help me maximize my upgrade cash, after only defeating two out of five so far.
A key part of this is understanding where the Magnum Ammo caches are and how many rounds I can use on each boss. A page on Evil Resource lists all the Mag Ammo spots, but one stands out—it doesn't match the description.
The specific location in question is the last one mentioned, described as a wall in the southeast corner of the area after exploring.

I suspect the guide might be pointing to the final spot near the Altar that The Duke leads you to after the Heisenberg boss fight, but I haven't seen Magnum Ammo there in my last two runs. Anyone know if this cache exists elsewhere or if the guide is off?
I also thought I might have missed some of the other spots listed, or they could be incorrect, but realized I already found them once the guide mentioned their locations. It's not a straightforward guide since there are no screenshots of the actual cache positions, so it may need someone familiar with the game to follow accurately.

OK, just an update, I found the answer to my question. I chose to finish the game from where I started as a way to test my Mag Ammo strategy on both optional and mandatory bosses, and it actually performed better than expected. There are two rounds of Mag Ammo at that location before the final boss, opposite the other ammo caches on a brick wall, giving me 14 rounds instead of the 12 I anticipated for Miranda. It's odd that no one in the videos I've seen shows anyone picking up the Mag rounds there—it seems they don't realize it exists.

I'm returning to the save point before the test to try a cleaner run and capture it this time. So far, I've only taken out the...

There are two rounds of Mag Ammo at that location before the final boss, opposite the other ammo caches on a brick wall. I ended up with 14 rounds instead of the 12 I anticipated for Miranda. It’s odd that no one in the videos I’ve seen shows anyone picking up the Mag rounds there—it seems they’re not aware it exists.

I’m returning to the save point before the test to try a cleaner run and capture it this time. So far, I’ve only defeated the Beneviento Giant and Varcolac Alpha, taken no damage, and am in good shape resource-wise, which is better than my previous results.
