Now that the dual and quad channel details are covered, let's discuss why the system enters a boot loop. Up to now we've noticed varying slot positions relative to the CPU, which puts a strain on the memory controller. That’s partially true, but it doesn’t explain your main concern. The 2700 and 2700X models only support up to 2933mhz natively. Going beyond that pushes overclocking into 3000mhz and above. This extra stress mainly affects the memory controller inside the CPU, which can manage populating four dimensions but struggles with the third RAM stick in dual channel. In dual channel mode, slots two and four are used for data transfer, while slot four is farthest from the CPU. This isn’t a significant problem. 'You might try enabling XMP/DOCP and then manually tweak the memory speed to 2933mhz. The board should respond, but if not, it will attempt the setting three times. On the fourth try, it should enter safe mode so you can adjust again. If it still doesn’t reach 2933mhz, lower it to 2667mhz. At such low speeds, XMP can be enabled or disabled. With XMP off, the board will automatically select timings and likely post without issues.'

I don’t know if it’s a slot problem. It’s booting with all 4 sticks running at 2666 MHz. I think it may have been answered above but I’ll have to see here in a little bit.
