The pump stops unexpectedly during water cooling.
Hey guys. I just created an account thinking I might be the only one facing this issue, but I'm pretty sure I'm making a small mistake.
I have a custom watercooling loop set up.
Pump > CPU > 3-fan Rad > Res.
The loop is full of coolant and the pump isn't running dry.
Everything was fine in my build until a tube started leaking. After replacing the motherboard (and switching to soft tubing), I reassembled it.
But then my pump would shut off randomly while I was running the computer.
I've had it for over an hour before, and sometimes it only lasts less than ten minutes.
I've tried using a different SATA port and a different PMW port. Right now, it's plugged into both. When I enter BIOS, my motherboard (Z97 MSI Gaming 5) doesn't recognize it as being connected.
My pump is a SWIFTECH MCP50X.
I've also tried using just the PMW port—it doesn't power up at all.
I've used just the SATA port, and the pump shuts down after a certain time.
It was working perfectly earlier today; I ran it for over an hour before turning it off to work. When I came back, it started up in under a minute but then shut off. Now it won't turn on.
I've tried again this morning too—it didn't power up.
Any suggestions?
