The PSU power cable doesn't match the power sockets in my country - what should I do next?
Hello, I just completed assembling my PC without a GPU. The PSU is a Toughpower GF1 ARGB 750W Gold - TT Premium Edition.
I plan to turn it on and connect it to the power source, but the power cable included with the PSU isn't compatible with the sockets in my country. We have two holes, so I might need a third-party adapter or converter.
What should I do? With imported electronics, adaptors are usually used to change the cable header so it fits our sockets. However, I'm not sure if this is completely safe for the PSU.

As long as your nation uses the same voltage as the power supply unit, you can simply use the regular adapter. The three-pin connector is used in the UK and operates at 220V; make sure the PSU matches your country’s standard of 220 or 110V. Even better, visit a local store to purchase a new PSU cable that includes the correct plug type for your country (shucko). Take this example so they understand what the opposite side of the cable should look like.

You only require an IEC cable with the appropriate connector for your region, ensuring at least 12A capacity. These can be purchased from any store that sells electrical supplies. It's a much more secure option compared to using adapters.
The cheapest option was under one euro, and it’s still a reasonable choice. Simply replace the Schuko plug with a new one. I’ve done this on an American-style cable (my plug and cable are black; these images are just for reference). I recommend against using an adapter in this situation. For short durations or low power applications – it might work, but for this case it’s not advisable. On one of the white-colored adapters you can find at home, you’ll see melted black plastic. You might never encounter an issue, but why take chances? Clearly, the Schuko plug must be connected properly – if you or someone else can’t do that, it’s better to purchase the cable directly (as suggested in post #4).

You might be able to do it, I could manage it. But if you mess up, things could get dangerous.

Hey everyone, I placed an order for a new C13 AC cord that matches the specifications and included a surge protector. It should work fine. My main worry was about using third-party cables with the PSU, but it seems the advice applies more to the power cord and the connection to the PSU rather than the parts themselves.
