The PSU fan runs very loudly initially but then stops completely.
I recently assembled a PC, about a month ago. Everything functioned perfectly until this morning when I powered it on and the PSU fan spiked intensely before settling again. Performance remained stable, temperatures were normal, and load levels stayed low. When I launched a demanding game, the fan still ran hard. It seems dust accumulation isn’t the issue since it’s only been a month. It’s a Corsair RM750e. What’s happening and should I consider replacing it? That would be undesirable.
The RMe series from Corsair has faced many complaints about its noisy fans. Although they offer great power supplies, the fans are a major issue, causing users to switch back to better models like the RMx or other brands. Can you capture the sound? It may be louder than expected or even faulty.
This file isn't familiar to me, I don't hear the usual hiss, just a strong fan sound. But it sounds worse than expected.
I wasn’t sure it would make a difference, but unplugging everything from the PSU and reconnecting didn’t help. I’m also getting everything set up for the warranty, but I’d rather just fix it myself so I don’t have to take it apart and reassemble it.
It's a significant shift from the usual, which is concerning. Could you explain what an RMA means? I'm new to this topic and really appreciate your help!
