Stream handles the inputs without issues, but games with controller support fail to recognize them. I've also tested ds4windows and the same problem persists, regardless of connection method—USB or Bluetooth.

Steam will convert it to Steam Input or Xbox settings based on whether you have Playstation Controller support active in Steam. For titles that work directly, you need to add an exception in Steam or simply close the app if it's not a native game. It's annoying when games don<|pad|>, especially on Steam, might block the driver automatically. Many games that work natively are great because they offer full functionality on PS5, though performance may vary depending on connection.

What games? Mostly PlayStation and Ubisoft support the PS5 controller, with a few Playstation titles. Classic games mainly work on PS4, and the majority just don’t run on it so I use Steam. Xbox Store games are played with the Xbox One controller.

I understand it's a bit chaotic, but it should function well in most games. Consider reinstalling Steam IG. Also, it's worth getting an Xbox controller—they tend to work better—and DS5 is likely one of the least compatible, though DS1-DS4 are still solid. Razer V2 is a great choice!

ds5 is not widely supported across most Steam games, though ds4 works in many. It can be tricky, particularly with wireless PSO2, which has DS5 enabled via its dual settings.

My personal taste leaned away from DS1 and 2 because they made my hands uncomfortable. DS4 felt better but DS4Windows was still a bit rough. The Switch is quite awkward for me, yet the Steam Deck offers the most comfortable portable feel I've experienced. I prefer the original Xbox controller over the newer versions and the Xbox 360, though the latter was decent. I miss having built-in force feedback and haptics—it would really enhance the experience. Playing Zelda Tears of the Kingdom with motion controls on a PS5 controller in Yuzu is impressive. I also struggled to get the official Switch Pro controller working properly. Overall, I’ve tried many controllers for PC games but mostly stick with the PS5 one, confident it will function. For unsupported titles, I manually add them to Steam’s library and they translate well when launched. The main issue is that once a game supports it, native support disappears. I remember having full adaptive triggers in Far Cry 6 before using Steam, which felt much smoother.

I have a personal preference against the placement of thumbsticks on Xbox controllers.

The issue appears to have resolved itself, likely because running NFS Unbound with a game that supports controllers improved input handling. Other games began responding more smoothly afterward.
