Hello, I've been using this controller for a year now but it has started acting up recently. It's wireless and whenever I connect the bluetooth dongle it gets recognized briefly but then drops off and doesn't reconnect afterward—it keeps flashing. I've tried different fixes but nothing resolved the issue. Here are the screenshots of my device manager and joy.cpl:

Thanks for any assistance you can provide.
EDIT: In the brief period when it's recognized, it's identified as an Xbox 360 controller until the input starts lagging, after which it disconnects completely:

Update your post with detailed hardware specifications and operating system information.
= = = =
What alternatives have been tested?
New battery?
Does the controller function correctly on a different machine?
Is another recognized PS4 controller compatible with your setup?
= = = =
Does the dongle become excessively hot or warm?
Inspect it gently right after disconnection.
If it does heat up, use a USB extension cable to relocate the dongle away from the host port. This may improve airflow and signal quality.

I've attempted to reset the controller using the button on its back, installed and removed new driver versions, tested all USB ports on my PC, paired and unpaired the controller multiple times. It functioned properly on this one before without problems, but now the same issue appears with my PS4. I also had a PS5 controller that worked perfectly on this PC. No.

If the controller malfunctions in two separate settings, it's probable the device or adapter is faulty. Consider testing it in another location to confirm.
