This PS was released from another machine I'm upgrading. It functioned properly on the old system and supported two SATA HDDs at that time.
I can start the PC without connecting any 6-pin peripherals (SSD/HDD/CDROM). It boots using a M.2 SSD.
When I attempt to connect a peripheral device, it doesn't even power on, the PS won't activate. Pressing the power button results in an immediate click followed by silence. It seems an over-current protection mechanism is activating. Removing the power from the peripheral restores normal operation. All four modular 6-pin connections on the PS behave identically. Other modular setups can power devices and the PC boots correctly.
I've found another discussion on Google about this problem, but none of the suggestions helped me find a solution. Anyone else has experienced similar behavior with a PS?

Unlikely to be an OCP, it seems an SCP is involved. Does this occur with all SATA devices you own? Are you certain you're using the right SATA cable that matches your PSU? A cable from another PSU might cause this issue.
