Hello everyone, I encountered an issue with a protection app designed to shield games from third-party programs such as hacks, ping adjusters, and bugs. The app appears to be outdated, and despite finding a few workarounds, it seems the outdated version is triggering an error when I try to run the game on a virtual machine. The error message appears unexpected, even though everything runs smoothly on my host PC. All the resources I provided to the VM are sufficient for the game to operate, and I have installed all necessary GPU drivers. Even with a powerful GPU on the VM, the same error persists.

Perhaps I can modify the app’s configuration file to include the correct code and adjust settings that might interfere with the VM. I’m unsure how to proceed after searching online, but I’m open to suggestions.

I’ll share a screenshot of the files and hope you can identify which file contains the code and which app I should use to open it, as opening it with Notepad or Wordpad would reveal its behavior.

The second image is from the file I highlighted in the first one, which I believe contains the necessary code or instructions to bypass detection.

Thank you.

The issue is this: in Romanian, the message reads: "There has been an error with the installation of GameGuard. Restart the computer, close all the programs and try again." GameGuard is the application that safeguards games. The game in question is called 4Story, similar to Metin2, and the same company owns them. I didn’t attach a picture initially since it doesn’t provide much information. I reinstalled the game using Microsoft Antivirus with Firewall disabled to prevent it from removing files that might appear dangerous, but the error still occurs. After excluding antivirus and firewall concerns, I checked RAM, GPU, CPU, etc., and it seems GameGuard is detecting the game running on a virtual machine, which it considers a cheat, causing this error. I would like to examine the code behind GameGuard to see where it identifies virtual environments.
