The processor PC experiences unexpected pauses.
Hey there, I switched my CPU from i5-8600k to i5-9600k. After restarting, the PC came alive then shut down again before I rebooted again. Then I saw a BIOS message indicating a boot failure because the settings weren’t compatible. I asked it to use the default configuration and tried again. The CPU ran at 4.3GHz initially and dropped to 3.7GHz afterward. After a while, the system froze completely—just the screen stayed on, no input from mouse or keyboard changed what appeared. I double-checked the CPU, found no bent pins anywhere. Here are my details: CPU: i5-9600k, MB: Z390UD, GPU: EVGA 1060 6GB, RAM: Trident Z RGB DDR4, Cooler: 120mm water cooler. Thanks for reading and helping!
You currently have six 8600K units and a few more in the mix. It looks like you've upgraded to higher-end models, but it might be worth checking your motherboard compatibility before finalizing.
Consider resetting the CMOS if the BIOS reset didn’t restore all settings to their original state. A few restarts after installing new hardware are typical.
