You're confused because both your motherboard and CPU use the same socket type. Double-checking confirms they match. Make sure the CPU is properly seated in the socket—sometimes misalignment can cause issues. If it still doesn't fit, there might be a problem with the board or the CPU itself.

Was die G3220 gebraucht gekauft?

Both products were purchased secondhand from eBay, starting with the motherboard. I just received the CPU today and was planning to pair them up right away.

That CPU is quite compact. I can provide an image of its back if needed—just let me know. Please note, we can see your responses clearly. "We can see your responses" as requested.

It seems the IHS from a G3220 might have been moved onto another chip or the motherboard socket changed. I think it’s more likely the IHS is on the CPU itself, and the socket would be noticeable on the back.

For reference, I included an LGA775 processor alongside it.

This situation seems odd. PCPartpicker verifies compatibility for the listed item. The specific model mentioned—Intel Pentium G3220 3 GHz Dual-Core Processor on an Asus B85M-G Micro ATX LGA1150 motherboard—is confirmed to work. Prices shown include shipping, taxes, rebates, and discounts, totaling $121.01 on Amazon. If you notice the CPU doesn’t fit, reach out to the seller with a photo and inquire about a refund.

For eight dollars I can retain it in my collection. I’m curious about what might have happened. I examined the socket and its surroundings carefully—there were no indications of a swapped or fixed socket.

From what I saw on Google Images, the CPU appears authentic. Would you like me to share an image of the socket?
