I just got my new PC with a 4070 OC and 12600KF. I checked TimeSpy, CPU Profile, and 3Dmark, but my GPU scores are low—only 5k on TimeSpy. I’m using a Gigabyte B760M-Gaming X AX, which isn’t the recommended Z-series board. CPU Profile readings look really low too. I don’t know what’s causing it, though; temps and usage seem normal. Could it be the mismatch with my motherboard?
Consider testing Cinebench and sharing your result. The B760 line includes Intel Undervolt Protection, which may reduce CPU speed significantly. Your score should indicate if this protection is active. Use ThrottleStop and open the FIVR window. Check the BIOS for options to disable this feature if needed.
Consider your workload and system capabilities. Running on multi-core can boost performance for parallel tasks, while single-core might suffice for simpler jobs. Both options have trade-offs depending on your specific needs.
One multi-core R23 evaluation suffices. Below are some comparisons available. https://www.techpowerup.com/review/intel...gen/6.html
I think my performance isn't up to the mark. I have undervolt protection enabled, so I'm planning to turn it off, but I find it hard to stay focused in Gigabyte BIOS.
Your memory is set for dual-channel operation. The slots are correctly arranged.
I accessed my BIOS but found only various Vcore offset options available.
Your display indicates three cores and six threads. Many of your processor cores are currently off. Launch msconfig, remove the "Number of processors" field, then click OK and restart so Windows recognizes the remaining resources. Once back on, use Task Manager to verify cores and threads are displayed accurately. Address any discrepancies before considering other adjustments like disabling Undervolt Protection.
I'm surprised you noticed, actually—I might not have. Thanks for pointing it out. Now I'm just a bit behind average on Cinebench and a little above average for the 3DMarks CPU profile. Thanks.
