Hi everyone. I've played this game extensively, but with an older system it's clear how much performance it demands. I wanted to know just how much the CPU affects it. My specs are: Asus Z77-A Intel i5-2500K, 16 GB RAM, 2x7870 ASUS DCU-II, 256 GB Samsung 840 PRO. I managed to get the XFX RX480 GTR 8GB card, which gave me a huge boost. After installing it and running benchmarks in AotS, I saw the same results as with my 7870—only a tiny 0.5 FPS difference. This was tested on DX11 on Windows 8.1, before I upgrade to Windows 10. In the coming days, I'll have an Asus Z87-A board with an i7-4770k, which should significantly improve things. But is the issue really my CPU, or is it the limitations of DX11 in this game? - Dozer

If it's a crossfire 7870 model, the performance gap should be minimal.

Crossfire doesn't perform any actions in AOTS, especially in DX11. In DX12 they support "multiGPU," allowing multiple GPUs to be used within their own code, though not through CrossFire integration.

Clear the drivers using DUDE, then reinstall them.

Running on Windows 8.1 means no current compatibility options. AotS doesn’t support crossfire or SLI at this time, so it won’t affect performance.

Sure, I cleared all previous drivers before setting up the newest version. I'm concerned about whether reinstalling to Windows 10 or upgrading to Windows 10 Pro 4770 will yield the same outcome.
