Recently I upgraded to water cooling and naturally increased my CPU and GPU speeds. I upgraded my CPU from 3.4 to 4.5 @ 1.45V and my GPU from 1.0 to 1.5. A few months before overclocking, I had a 15000 which was on the lower side for my setup. After overclocking, it fell to 12000. I turned off my GPU overclock and it came back down to 9000, so I reinstalled it. Then I lowered my CPU to 4.3 @ 1.25V and achieved a score of 11000. I completely removed it and the demo performed poorly, but I still got a 12000? What’s happening? Everyone mentions thermal throttling, but my temperatures stay under 60°C. I’m really confused.

On the top one, 9553....the GPU is running 1200 core? The physics score looks okay for the CPU clock. The GPU score is terrible. Something went wrong on that run.
Middle score, 14298: That GPU score is more in line with what I'd expect from a 980ti at near stock clocks. Your CPU clock seems to be a bit unstable, or it would have scored higher here on the physics portion of the test.
Third score, 12103: GPU score is terrible. Physics score is what I'd expect to see at that CPU clock. Now, your GPU clock seems to be unstable at 1527.
First thing I'd do, is run DDU and uninstall all of your GPU drivers. Then, do a clean install. Trial and error....that's what benchmarking is about. Finding out what works best for you, and...
I restored the original configurations and tried again, but the result was even more problematic. The average score is between 16 and 17,000. What’s happening?

Lately I water cooled and so instinctively I boosted my CPU and GPU. I upgraded my CPU from 3.4 to 4.5 @ 1.45V and my GPU from 1.0 to 1.5. A few months back before my overclock, I had a 15000 which was at the lower range for my setup. After overclocking it fell to a rough 12000. I turned off my GPU overclock and it came back down to 9000 so I reinstalled it. Then I lowered my CPU to 4.3 @ 1.25 V and achieved a 11000 score. I completely removed it and the demo performed poorly but I still got a 12000? What’s happening? Everyone mentions thermal throttling but my temperatures stay under 60C. I’m really confused.

Returned to the initial configuration and reattempted, resulting in an even lower score. The average score is between 16 and 17000. What’s happening?
Did you receive any details about hardware consumption, such as CPU and GPU activity? It seems temperatures are normal but performance isn’t being fully utilized.
Update the driver to the most recent version.
Also verify if any malware or viruses were present before the issue arose.
Are there any other adjustments besides the watercooler that you’d like to make?

I restored the original configurations and tried again, but the score dropped even more—now at 9000. The average is roughly between 16 and 17000. What’s happening?
Do you have any details about hardware performance? Specifically CPU and GPU utilization? It might be that temperatures are normal but power usage isn’t optimal.
Consider updating the driver to the latest version. Also, scan for any malware or viruses that could be affecting performance.
Before this issue started, did you make any other changes besides replacing the water cooler?
I reviewed system usage earlier: GPU clocks remain stable at 100%, CPU clocks drop slightly, and usage stays around 30-60%. Drivers are current. No other system adjustments except I applied a heatspreader to my RAM (removed from the chip) and added cable extensions.
It’s odd because I noticed a 30% jump in my Cinebench scores. PUBG appears to be performing similarly, possibly just a bit worse.

On the top one, 9553... the GPU has 1200 core? The physics score appears acceptable for the CPU clock. The GPU score is poor. Something went wrong during that run.
The middle score, 14298: That GPU score matches what I'd anticipate from a 980ti at near stock clocks. Your CPU clock seems slightly unstable, or it would have earned a higher physics score in the test.
The third score, 12103: The GPU score is bad. The physics score aligns with what I expect at that CPU clock. Now, your GPU clock seems inconsistent at 1527.
First step would be to run DDU and uninstall all GPU drivers, then reinstall them. Trial and error—this is what benchmarking involves. Discovering what works best for you and sticking with it.
You're clearly new to overclocking, so I recommend looking for a tutorial and going through it.

I'm not entirely sure this relates to overclocking.
The 14000 score came from this summer. I used an air cooler and ran everything stock. Now, when I attempt the stock benchmark, it drops to 9000. The 9000 uses stock default BIOS, fan curves, and afterburner settings.
To reach close to 14000 again, I need to heavily overclock both CPU and GPU. Drivers didn't help. I plan to do a clean driver install; this might be the solution. After that, I'll format my hard drive and retry everything.
I think it's more about software—if my GPU were a brick, it would likely either function or fail completely. It would be odd if it got damaged and now performance is halved.
