You ran five tests on an i7-7700k using CineBench. Here are the results:
1. 4.2 @ 1.000v, 2285°C, 82°C
2. 4.9 @ 1.250v, 2461°C, 87°C
3. 4.9 @ 1.300v, 2438°C, 96°C
4. 4.7 @ 1.200v, 2341°C, 83°C
5. 4.8 @ 1.250v, 2289°C, 89°C

The numbers look normal for a high-end CPU under load. The temperatures are within expected ranges. Experts suggest checking cooling system efficiency, ensuring proper airflow, and verifying that the CPU cooler is functioning correctly. If temps stay stable and performance meets expectations, you’re good to go.

And get a fresh cooler—perhaps even think about removing the CPU—since if 1.000v is the standard voltage at 4.2ghz in Cinebench, you’ll likely manage a solid overclock with a solid CPU cooler and a decent delid.

The Kraken X62 AIO might not be performing as expected if it wasn't properly connected. Regarding thermal throttling, it could indicate insufficient airflow within your setup.

At the specified heat range (95-100°C), the processor will begin reducing its performance to manage temperature, meaning even though you configure a frequency such as 4.9GHz, it may operate at a lower speed during heavy use. Use CPU-Z for clock details and monitor temperatures with HWiNFO or HWMonitor.

You're asking about averages and what "temp" refers to. It means calculating the overall result from several trials, not just one. "Temp" usually stands for temperature, but here it likely means the average or maximum value among the runs.

Understood. No tasks needed. Appreciate the advice—it's at the highest temperature.

Consider reverting to stock configurations and restarting gradually this time while fine-tuning the clock speed. Keep the voltage set to auto, raise the multiplier until it fluctuates, then adjust the voltage accordingly. Also verify your temperatures are stable and ensure you’re not hitting power limits, especially if your PSU isn’t powerful enough.

PSU performance is solid, Corsair RMx 750 works well. The reading of 4.2 1.000V 2285 temperature 82°C seems typical under standard settings. If it gets this hot, it might indicate cooling issues.
