I understand steam often takes a short time when installing new games, but I've only noticed it lasting 30 seconds to a minute. For example, when starting The Witcher 3, which is a large file, even after spending about 30 minutes at the store, the disk space allocation was only halfway done. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I'm installing it on a second HDD drive, with steam installed on the same drive. My specifications are...
It's strange. My HDD has always responded almost instantly. Maybe it's connected to the heavy workload of Witcher 3.
I've observed that the system processes only a short time when my HDD is active. When I download more than one game at once, the first one secures quickly but each additional game requires significantly longer allocation. If I'm transferring or copying files on that HDD during game setup, the allocation also becomes noticeably slower than normal.
