My PC specs are an i5 9600k processor, a Gigabyte Z390 Aorus Pro Wifi motherboard, an Asus TUF GeForce RTX 2060 OC 6GB graphics card, and 8GB of G.Skill Tridentz RAM running at 3200MHz in dual channels. I’m powered by a CX Series™ CX650 power supply.
I mainly play Call of Duty: Warzone and Valorant, which really push my graphics card. However, when I play Grand Theft Auto V, it seems like my GPU isn’t always being fully utilized – sometimes its usage is lower than my CPU's. While the frame rate usually stays around 120-140, occasionally it dips down to 60 or 80. Strangely, my GPU temperatures remain consistently around 80-85°C while gaming, and only dip to 35-45°C when idle.
Could you tell me how much your CPU and GPU are being used? It’s perfectly fine if your CPU is higher than your GPU – it's not a problem at all.
My computer’s processor is running at 78%, and the graphics card is hitting 70% – it occasionally spikes higher. Despite all that activity, my temperatures are holding steady at 80 degrees. Interestingly, the graphics card’s clock speed is locked at 1875MHz, even with the high usage.
Give the cooler a good cleaning and apply some fresh thermal paste.
