I play various games and have been experiencing noticeable stuttering in many of them, especially Dota 2 and CS:GO. My performance varies from 100 to 200 FPS on my GTX 1080 paired with an older i7-6700. Enabling V-sync helps a bit but the issue remains. The Task Manager shows CPU and GPU usage staying under 50% during games, which suggests no major bottleneck. Could it be that my monitor at 75Hz isn't capable of handling the frame rate? Please advise!

I'm facing the same problem but with different specifications. I'm hoping you can provide a solution that also helps me.

Do you own two displays? When gaming on the 75 Hz screen inside a borderless window and using a video or similar app on your second monitor, Windows 10 may cause the main display to lag if the monitors differ in refresh speed. This issue is resolved by running everything in exclusive fullscreen mode.

I also have two monitors, both using the same model at 75hz. I attempted to disable background videos and switch to full screen, but the issue persists.

It appears the issue might stem from a delay in another part of the system besides the CPU or GPU. Does VSync affect this? Also, could you share details about your hardware setup?

intel core i7-6700 with 16gb ram and asus h170 motherboard works well on toshiba ssd and hdd, though performance can dip when using v-sync. Stuttering appears in some games but not consistently, especially in csgo.

Yes, capping frames helps protect your screen from damage by limiting the number of times it's turned on and off.

It doesn't improve if I lower it below 120. The stuttering remains at 144.

ntel corei7-6700 Mb: uncertain but likely an ASUS H170 MSI GTX 1080 with 16GB RAM, Toshiba SSD 120GB and a 1TB HDD. Stuttering occurs when using V-Sync on or off, though it's less noticeable in games like CSGO.
