Hi, I’m checking if you can update your BIOS on the new PRIME B550M-A board you’re getting. The chip you have is a Ryzen 5 5600X, and the BIOS version is 2423. Since it came with a Ryzen 3 1200, you’ll need to confirm whether the new board supports that processor and if any updates are required. Regarding the BIOS, using the wrong version could potentially cause issues, so double-check compatibility before installing. Let me know what you find!

If you install a CPU without the right BIOS, it may cause hardware issues or incompatibility problems.

AMD does not back the Ryzen 1000 series CPU with the 500 series chipset boards. Placing an incorrect AM4 CPU won’t cause immediate harm, but may result in system issues like failure to boot or POST.
