Hello everyone, I just purchased this PC today and completed the setup. Windows was installed normally, but I encountered issues with the M.2 SSD not being detected after restarting. After contacting MSI support, they advised checking connections, which didn’t resolve the problem. I also tested other slots on the motherboard and the same issue persisted. My options are unclear. I’m considering returning the PC to Newegg for a refund, but I bought it at a discount and don’t want the hassle. Alternatively, I could claim the MSI warranty through Newegg or opt for a replacement drive. I’m unsure about installing Windows again or how to obtain my license/license number. I might use an older SATA 2.5-inch SSD boot drive instead and try installing Windows there. No other PCs are being tested at the moment. I have a local computer service shop in my town, and I sent an email asking if they might have what I need. I’m hoping a new SSD would be compatible. I’m a bit puzzled about installing Windows 11—how do I set it up and protect my serial number/key? I think it could be related to my MOBO.
You can verify the M2 even on a laptop using a USB adapter, priced around $15 at the provided link. It’s unclear how the prebuilt device handles the Windows key without a physical sticker, but you can start with a Windows media drive that doesn’t require a key.
The drive failed initially. A local tech expert added it to his system but couldn't find anything. We replaced the SD card with a new one and installed Windows 11, which is now functioning perfectly. The MSI used an affordable SSD, though I noticed another person on a forum mentioned similar SSD problems.
