The issue is that the computer powers on intermittently when I press the power button. It works after startup, but sometimes I need to repeatedly press it for one of my 20 buttons to get the system up. I changed the CPU from a 5600x to a 5800X3D, swapped the Hyper 212 Black for a Deepcool AK620, and replaced the noisy fans with quieter ones. Everything else stayed the same. This wasn’t a problem when the 5600x was installed. Others have reported similar behavior with the same components. System specs: CPU Ryzen 5800X3D, motherboard Gigabyte X570 UD (Rev 1.1), BIOS F38B, RAM 4x Teamgroup T-Force DARK 16GB 3600MT, GPU EVGA 3070TI XC3 Ultra, PSU Seasonic FOCUS GM-750, cooler Deepcool AK620, case Deepcool Macube 310p White.
You're experiencing issues with the power button, and it's possible the front panel switch is loose. Since you're new to this, double-checking the connections might help.
It seems logical to suspect a hardware fault, such as loose connections or damaged components. Fast Action Points If you're confident about spotting the two front panel headers on the motherboard, you can connect them together (using a metal tool like a screwdriver or clip that won’t touch anything else). If the system powers on, it suggests a problem between the power button and the motherboard—possibly due to a loose connector, faulty button, or wiring. @cobalt151 might also check the latest BIOS update, which could help with performance gains in the 5800 X3D. Additionally, updating the chipset drivers could resolve issues, especially if they persist. If neither of these works, it may indicate physical damage to the motherboard.
