The power switch isn't functioning properly.
I'm really frustrated with Windows 10. This problem has been ongoing for years and Microsoft isn't addressing it. It functions on an alternate account, but not on mine. I've tried various fixes, but nothing works. WINDOWS 10 PRO Build 1803
If this were a widespread problem it would have been addressed before launch because the issue with the start button is a major interface flaw for many users. Providing clear details would help developers resolve it. If you've experienced this for years, it likely points to a software or hardware configuration issue, so sharing more information could assist in finding a solution. By the way, do you rely on any third-party tools such as "shut up windows 10"? Some of these can interfere with Cortana and affect the start menu.
If it functions on other accounts, its profile should be updated. You might attempt rebuilding the AppManifest. Launch Powershell as Administrator and execute this command: Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}. If the issue persists, I recommend regenerating your profile. Typically, I create a temporary admin account, log in, rename the C:\Users folder, remove the old profile from User Management, and then set up a fresh user with data from your backup folder.
