I was operating my pc normally when it started playing Valorant, opened a browser tab and WhatsApp, but suddenly shut down. All fans stopped except the power button on the cabinet, and even the CPU fan wasn’t working. I checked all connectors, RAM, and the processor, but it still won’t turn on. The USB ports on the cabinet are functional—I tried plugging in my phone to charge it. The motherboard seems to lack power since no ports are responding. I suspect a motherboard issue.
My setup includes:
Case: Galax Revolution 01 cabinet
Mobo: Gigabyte B45M DS3H WiFi
CPU: Ryzen 5 5600G
SSD: Crucial P3 M.2 1TB
PSU: Cooler Master MWE 550 bronze v2
RAM: G skill ripjaws 2 x 8GB
UPS: Luminous Pro 1000
Please let me know if there’s a solution possible. Thank you.
What is the age of that Cooler Master PSU?
It has been used heavily for gaming, video editing, or even bit-mining.
PSUs offer three voltage options (3.3, 5, 12) for different system parts.
If one voltage fails while others work, it can make the system seem functional when it isn't.
Replace it with another known working PSU.
Make sure to use only the cables that came with the verified working PSU.
I purchased the entire system on May 4, 2023, and it has only been a year or so.
I've played some demanding games like Cyberpunk, MWIII, and Ark Survival, but I haven't played any of them or installed them on my PC. My only game is Valorant, with no video editing or bit-mining. Just gaming and coding.
I plan to try a different PSU. Thank you for your reply 🙏.
