The PCIe slot is bent and may not be safe for use.
The rig came with its GPU already installed, and the connection point slipped out of the PCIe slot, leading to bending. My concern is whether this slot is safe to use or if it could damage a GPU inside. Visually, the plastic appears mostly intact, though a few pins are slightly bent. Light testing suggests it might work with another GPU, but I’d like more advice before proceeding. Thanks! Video of the PCIe slot attached.
Consider the situation carefully. The second slot might only hold one card at a time, but PCIe x8 usage limits performance. It’s likely the device won’t function properly under those conditions. I’d probably choose to return it—both the metal casing and the plastic appear warped. Swapping cards a few times could ruin the pin connections because the housing restricts bending. If you’re willing, ask the seller if they’d accept just the motherboard for return and send a replacement. Disassembling it is straightforward: unscrew the board, detach cables, and remove the cooler and CPU. It’s not overly complicated.
