I purchased a X570s Aorus Elite AX Mobo and a Ryzen 7 5700G, along with a Samsung 980 Pro and 64GB Corsair Vengeance 3600MHZ. Now my 5700G isn’t PCIe 3 compatible, but I still have my older 3800X which is. Should I keep the system with the older CPU or upgrade to the newer one while losing PCIe 3 support? Thanks!

The 5700G offers little extra benefit compared to the 3800X. I’d trade the 5700G and either pick up the 3800X or invest the funds from the 5700G into a 5700X/5800X.

I think you likely have a GPU and don’t need the integrated graphics in the 5700G. Purchasing a X570 board makes little sense unless you need a lot of PCIe 4.0, otherwise the B550 is a better option. It feels odd to restrict yourself to PCIe 3.0 with such a device, especially since you already have a PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD.

I wasn't aware I had the PCI3 model, so I'm planning to replace it with a 5800X.
