My PC won't start until I cut the power to the PSU and plug it back in. I've already changed out the power supply unit, which came with all its cables connected to my motherboard. I also swapped out the RAM and checked every connection again. I even tried starting the computer without attaching a GPU. I'm running Windows 11. The BIOS is fully up to date as are all other programs and software updates. My hardware specs include an Asus ROG Z790E WiFi Intel i7-14700KF Fury Beast, DDR5 RAM with 32 GB, a Nvidia GeForce RTX 4070 Super, Samsung 990 PRO SSDs (both 1 TB and 2 TB), Lian Li GALAHAD II case fans, and a hub.

Which power supplies (PSUs) are these? Same one, or a different model? Was it working okay before? Did I swap out the cables too? Do I have to use the cables from the new PSU? Check my RAM for errors with memtest and replace that CMOS battery.

I changed my PSU from EVGA to a Cooler Master. Both are 1000-watt units. I swapped out cables, used a cooler master cable mod with an evga, removed the old one and used what came with the cooler master ram and memory test ran. But I switched my ram out just to see if it was good too. I replaced the cmos battery as well.

SFC and DISM are working well on their own.

If your computer won't turn on the first time, are there any beep sounds or lights? You might need to plug a small speaker into the motherboard to hear those beeps. When the power supply unit starts and is working, what should you do next? Turn off everything like power and screensavers to see if that helps. Just to check things out, look in Reliability History/Monitor and Event Viewer. Either of these tools might show some error codes or messages that match the problems happening when it turns on.

After I turn it on, everything works fine. When I shut it off from Windows, it just starts up again like before. Kernal 41 shows as an error in Event Viewer. I've tried fixing this a few times already. That's why I swapped out the power supply unit.

Just to be sure: right click the Windows icon (usually in the lower left corner) and choose Shut down or sign out. Then shut down from there - is that right? Do you turn off any power switches afterwards? What steps do you take before it turns back on? = = = = Check Reliability History/Monitor instead of Event Viewer. It's easier for normal people to use, and the timeline shows events better. Clicking each entry shows more info. Some details might not help much. By the way: open Reliability History/Monitor and make sure all boxes are visible on screen. Change the view setting to Days and pick a day with lots of errors. Take a picture and post it here using imgur.com (look for the green "New post" button). If you need more days, just take screenshots of those too.

Yeah, I turned off my computer because of Windows. Now I've taken out all the stuff left behind, just the new keyboard, mouse, and even a fresh display cable. But the problem is still there.

What exactly do you do that keeps your computer turning back on each time? Is electricity coming straight from the wall, or does it go through some extra stuff like extension cords, power strips, surge protectors, UPS units, or other things connected to the same power line? Are there any other gadgets using that exact connection path?

I have to reset the power supply, wait, then restart it again. Maybe it needs a few tries to work. I plugged it straight into the wall first and even tried a surge protector. I changed the power cable too, because this one was new. I also checked different outlets in separate rooms to see if that fixed it.
