The PC won't start when a newer GPU is connected?
I purchased an RTX 3060 Ti in April this year and it has worked well for months. Recently, I began playing Armored Core 6 without any problems for around 15 hours, but after a couple of hours the PC crashed immediately. I thought my power supply was faulty, so I replaced it with a Corsair HX850, but the issue persisted. After removing the 3060, everything functioned normally. I installed my old GTX 1050 Ti and it works fine, but using the 3060 causes the PC to refuse to start completely. I noticed a brief flash of light when I pressed power, but nothing else happens and the fans don’t spin at all.
I’m trying to figure out what’s causing this. I’ve swapped the 3060 into a lower PCIe slot and it still doesn’t work. In BIOS I checked the PCIe port settings—ensuring auto mode was enabled and confirming that memory support was set correctly—but nothing has resolved the problem.
Before the shutdown, there were no GPU artifacts, and the system only ran slowly once. My specs are as follows:
- Motherboard: MSI X570-pro mobo AMD AM4 SATA 6GB
- RAM: G.Skill Ripjaws V 16GB
- GPU: ZOTAC Gaming RTX 3060 Ti Twin Edge OC LHR 8GB GDDR6
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600X 6-core
- PSU: Corsair HX850 80 Plus Platinum
- OS: Windows 10
Hello there! I noticed you're joining the forums. Your setup with the GTX 1050 Ti works fine, but the 3060 causes the PC to refuse starting. If you're using the older GPU, try removing all drivers via DDU and then manually uninstalling them. After that, reinstall the latest drivers from Nvidia's support site in an elevated command prompt. Also, could you share your current BIOS version for the motherboard?
Updated the GPU driver and the bios for the motherboard, but the problem remains unchanged. The system won't power on with the 3060, and it stays stuck on the bios screen without allowing access to Windows.
