b850f rog strix 7950x3d rx9070 is not a recent build. It functioned properly yesterday and has been in use for several months. Likely constructed about 2-3 months after the RX9070 launch. When powering it on, an orange LED lights up on the DRAM. I've reset the RAM, GPU, and CPU multiple times—twice each—and even tried a BIOS flashback (I don’t recall the version before). Currently, if everything is correct, the BIOS should be 1087. I attempted to reset the CMOS using the built-in battery and AIO, but all combinations with power cables still show the same issue. The orange LED remains active, and it doesn’t boot into BIOS. On the forum, others mentioned it’s a RAM training issue; they suggest waiting 30 minutes if it’s the first time. Worth noting these sticks I’ve used came from an RMA unit—only one worked normally. Any advice?

My setup is different from yours. I use an LG 1700 model and an RX6600, but the 7950X3D works with IGUI instead of something else.

Have you verified the RAM functionality on the other computer?

Yes, it did unfortunately. Now I was considering removing everything and creating a simple test bench with just the motherboard CPU, RAM, and GPU, excluding the fan.

unfortunately it didn't function properly. the board was missing the case, only having cpu and ram, and an orange LED lit up on the dram (motherboard and cpu cable were connected). what would you recommend? consider a replacement RMA? order an AM5 CPU to test and return it if it fails, or proceed with an AMD RMA path. just RMA the motherboard, as most of these parts were gifts—really not interested in ASUS RMA since they aren't the best.

It’s worth noting that running the PC without a heatsink and using only RAM can generate some warmth—just enough to feel warm but not hot enough to touch. The CPU still produces a bit of heat, though it doesn’t reach an orange LED level.
