Hey there, just came back from the gym and decided to play some games. I turned on my PC, everything worked smoothly until I heard a spark and it shut down. I checked and found that the voltage stabilizer connected to my PC had disconnected due to me shifting the table slightly. Since my PC was linked to a voltage stabilizer and my motherboard has built-in surge protection, I assumed there was no issue. After plugging it back in and turning it on again, everything seemed normal until I started a game. It stopped instantly as if there was a power cut, then restarted itself. I thought maybe the game was the cause, so I tried another one that worked well but when the games menu opened, my PC shut off again—no shutdown screen, just turned off abruptly, like it was unplugged and then reconnected. I decided to test by not launching any apps that could stress the system and it didn’t crash. After about an hour, it crashed without any input. What’s going on here?

My initial concern is the power supply.
It might have been affected when the voltage stabilizer was removed.

I don’t see any other possibilities except for problems with the power supply... although there might be something else. Probably the power supply is the issue. When you begin a game, a big spike in power demand happens, and the power supply would normally handle it unless it’s faulty. Try running a repair program such as Blender; if it still stops, it’s likely not buggy game files causing a hard crash. I don’t think it would be a CPU or GPU problem because a CPU failure would just freeze the computer completely. You’d have to restart it manually in that case. If the issue were with your GPU, it would most probably make the screens display strange colors or turn black, but the computer would still be on, albeit non-functional. Consider swapping out the PSU and see if that resolves the problem. If that doesn’t work, my next likely suspect would be the motherboard, as they’re quite sensitive to power issues.
