The PC stopped working when I hit my table?
I was playing and became excited, then accidentally hit my wooden table. My PC froze during that moment and I restarted it, thinking it had crashed. After restarting, nothing showed. I believe the wires and sockets in our house are properly grounded because I get a shock when touching some cables or the case. I took my PC to a tech store, which checked if it would work and confirmed it did. They said it was just a loose HDMI cable. When I brought it back home to test, the PC still turned on but the monitors showed no signal. Now I’m back at the store, where they found the motherboard was grounded. They replaced the motherboard and also fixed the wiring and sockets in our house. After that, I thought everything was resolved, but the problem came back when I accidentally bumped my knee against the table—it froze again and showed no signal. I’m not sure what’s really going on since most of the fixes were done. Sorry if my story is a bit confusing and my English isn’t great 😅
It could indicate an internal poor connection on the monitor. This is the only remaining factor to consider.
You could likely have a short or crossed wire in your PSU connection and when you smack the table it jars it.
Sure, I can help with that. Let me review and provide you with the relevant information.
I believe the wires and sockets in our home are properly grounded, which is why I experience shocks when touching certain cables in my PC and the case. Please wait until a licensed electrician inspects your wiring and grounding before taking any further action. Keep the PC off and unplugged until the technician checks the outlet and case grounding. A damaged PC is the least of your concerns, and attempting repairs could worsen the issue. This situation is risky and may escalate quickly. You must resolve any electrical problems in your house.
That's a pretty far leap.
I would suspect a bad PSU before striking fear of bad home wiring into the OP. A shock wouldn't be enough to trip a breaker and if it's not bad enough that the OP is afraid to go in there it would imply a low voltage, low (relative) amp shock.
A simple multimeter test on the outlet will tell if there's an issue with the outlet, no need for an electrician.
As a matter of fact, OP, use a multimeter and check how much voltage is on the case. It's a good starting point to rule out if it is the PSU and if so which rail might have an exposed wire.
A technician visited to inspect and changed all the breakers and sockets recently, but last night when I accidentally hit my knee on the table it happened again. I’m not sure if it’s related to the house wiring or if there’s an issue with my PC, so I’ll ask the electrician to double-check everything just to be safe.
Thank u sir will try to check that out too and give u guys an update also I did go to a Computer tech and told me that my Case might be an issue too.
