The PC shuts down unpredictably and refuses to start unless it's completely powered off?
My pc would freeze completely.
When i turn it off as a result i can't turn it on, the screen remains black with
EZ debug VGA light on
.
Power draining fixes the issue momentarily but that's it.
I reckon it's a voltage issue, since
i had an issue with installing windows 11 on NVMe that could only be fixed by changing the outlet
, but I'm not really sure?
My setup is the following:
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 3600,
Motherboard: MSI A520M-A pro,
RAM: 2*16 Gb Corsair Vengeance RGB RS 3200 GHz CL16,
SSD: WD_BLACK SN850X,
GPU: GTX 3060 12Gb Ventus 2X,
PSU: Aerocool LUX 750W
This problem occurs too frequently when I boot from my NVMe, happened a couple of times in the past when I booted from the SATA SSD, and it also happened while in the BIOS.

Yes, made by Huntkey. And unit uses HK850-59PP platform.
Good quality PSU, borderline mediocre quality PSU. Tier A-.
NZXT C650 is also solid unit. Uses Seasonic Focus Gold platform. Tier A.

But may be a little bit too less wattage wise for RTX 3060 and it's insane transient power spikes.
MSI 750W unit would be safer bet to soak in the transient power spikes.
There's also Antec EA550G Pro, which is good quality PSU, Tier A-, but it is only 550W unit. So, wattage wise, too less.
Other PSUs within budget are inferior quality (mediocre, like Corsair CX-F RGB), low quality or even complete crap (Aerocool).
Thanks to both of you, I appreciate your feedback. I'm curious about what makes the Aerocool so bad. I've been using it for two years without any issues—until maybe recently. Just out of curiosity, not questioning your opinion.
Sure, i'll answer. I'll take AeroCool LUX RGB as an example, that is available in your store. E.g 550W unit. Specs: https://aerocool.io/product/lux-rgb-550w/ Now, if you look the specs, it's main selling points are (in the order of importance); 1. ARGB. 2. Efficiency, 80+ Bronze. 3. ARGB compatibility. 4. Stylish RGB flow. 5. Air ventilation. 6. Optimized fan RPM. 7. Soft, black, flat cables. These selling points are better suited for ARGB fan or PC case with ARGB fans, rather than for a PSU. For comparison, i'll take my own PSU: Seasonic PRIME 650 80+ Titanium [SSR-650TD] (aka TX-650). Specs: https://seasonic.com/prime-titanium/ While for my PSU, the main selling points are: 1. 80+ Titanium efficiency. 2. Highly suppressed ripple noise. 3. 12 year warranty. 4. Cybenetics testing. 5. Fan bearing. 6. Fan control. 7. Load regulation. These selling points are much better suited for PSU, since PSU is all about performance (load regulation, ripple) and not for ARGB eyecandy. Now, if you look at the label of LUX RGB, you'll see that it isn't 550W unit at all. Instead, it is 500W unit, since this is what +12V rail is capable of, 42A (504W). One can not magically combine PSU's rails to increase it's max output wattage. While 80+ Titanium is the highest efficiency there is, thus giving grounds to boast about it. Warranty wise, it isn't any better. It doesn't say a dime on AeroCool specs page about PSU's warranty. But i know that AeroCool PSUs have 1 year warranty. 2 year warranty when sold in EU (due to EU laws). While for my PSU, warranty is front and center: 12 year warranty. It is also the longest warranty there is. So, a valid selling point. PSU reliability can be seen from the warranty length it has been given. In a nutshell: up to 2 years - terrible reliability 3 years - poor reliability (e.g Corsair VS/CS) 5 years - mediocre reliability (e.g Be Quiet! Straight Power 11, Seasonic G12, Corsair CX/CXF) 7 years - good reliability (e.g Seasonic Core/Focus GM, Corsair TX/AX) 10 years - great reliability (e.g Seasonic Focus GX/PX, Corsair RMx/HX/HXi/AXi) 12 years - superb reliability (e.g Seasonic Vertex/PRIME) So, aim for a 10 year warranty PSU. 7 year warranty would be bare minimum. More in-depth about the two PSUs: AeroCool LUX RGB 550W PSU was released in 2020 and it only has 230V input voltage range with 80+ Bronze efficiency. While it is fully-wired (no modularity). Topology wise: on Primary side, it uses Double Forward conversion. And on Secondary side, it uses Primary-Side Regulation rectifier and Group-Regulated voltage regulation.
