The PC shuts down after three seconds without any input
I have relocated to a new house and someone damaged the power cable linking my PC and monitor to the outlet, causing it to shut off. This has happened before. I left the PC on for a while or longer and then tried turning it back on, but it still doesn’t work. After disconnecting everything except the PSU power cord, it powers up normally. Once I connected my keyboard and mouse, the PC would restart if I plugged in the USB microphone, but only briefly when I pressed the power button without doing so. Should I attempt a repair or replace the PSU? Or could another component be faulty? Please clarify any unclear points and thank you for your help.
the aerocool lux 550w (80+ bronze) runs on an msi a 320m-a pro motherboard with a gtx 1650 d6 gpu, ryzen 7 2700 cpu, 16gb ram at 3000mhz. the psu isn’t working, but the pc powers on when connected. i don’t think it’s a motherboard issue—possibly the power supply doesn’t function properly, or maybe the system boots up automatically after plugging in.
while preparing to reset the BIOS, I noticed an unusual issue with the pin cable connected to my PC. It appeared crushed, and this specific condition caused my computer to interpret it as if I were pressing a button for an extended period. This is why the system would turn on and off in just a few seconds. Thank you!
