The PC resets during gameplay!!!
Hello everyone, five months ago I purchased a prebuilt PC that performed well until recently. Now I understand the reputation of such builds, but you can find really good options depending on your needs. I acquired it at a great price and needed it because my last build was outdated and had become obsolete. At that time, I didn’t feel the urge to rebuild. This system includes a Ryzen 5 7600 CPU, an RX 7600 GPU, 16GB DDR5 RAM, an 850W 80Plus Gold power supply, a 1TB NVMe SSD, and an ASUS Prime A620 Plus motherboard. While I was playing R6, the PC suddenly froze and restarted on its own. I had an extra PSU nearby and swapped it, but that didn’t resolve the problem. I’ve also checked the CPU temperatures—they stay well within safe limits—and tested the RAM. Updating the BIOS didn’t help either. Interestingly, nothing happened during long sessions of playing soft games without any crashes. Why is that? Because all those games are limited to 60 FPS. The R6 almost restarted the PC instantly, and other titles followed suit. Occasionally I managed to play for about five minutes before it crashed. I set my FPS cap at 144 across the board, and it worked fine last night. After wiping the system, I plan to test again once I’m home to check for driver-related issues, as I’ve heard those could be a factor. If not, what should I do? Should I always cap FPS in every game? The PC has run perfectly since purchase, with no problems before; suddenly, FPS spikes began without warning. Sorry for the lengthy update.
