amd still offers torq specs for mounting still? do you apply the right torque, or is this only for threadripper? i’m curious if the recommended tightness applies to other models too. i’ve been using fingertips to tighten the thumbscrews. my old intel 9900k has an ek velocity wb, but i’ve faced problems with over-tightening since it’s springloaded. i had to take it apart and remount it slightly less forcefully. now it works fine—no more bluescreens or resets.
I reattached the CPU and didn’t tighten it as much as I thought. It’s running smoothly now. If it happens again, I might replace it or purchase a new cooler—either way, I’ll keep you updated.
