You're just starting out here, and I'm glad you reached out for help. Your PC performed well after the upgrade in June 2023, but it suddenly stopped working two days ago. After turning everything off and checking the power button, you noticed some issues: the RGB lights on your motherboard flicker when you power it on, but don't light up. The GPU light stays on. You're unsure if the problem is with the power supply unit or your motherboard, and you don't have any spare parts. Your current specs are: CPU - AMD Ryzen 5 3600, GPU - Asus TUF RX 5600 XT, RAM - g.Skill DDR4 4x8GB, motherboard - ASUS ROG Strix B450-F gaming. You mentioned it's a mix of good and bad news—your PC is fixed, but you're worried about future issues. Help is welcome if anyone could assist!

Check if the fans are spinning. Test it using a single RAM stick. Have you already reconfigured the BIOS with the shorting pins?

I attempted to short the pins and checked the resistance while pressing the button. It looks like the button functions properly. However, the PC isn’t turning on, the fans aren’t spinning, and since it won’t power up, I can’t reach the BIOS.

Have you experienced thunderstorms during outages? Is this region recognized for electrical surges?

If you lack nearby friends or family with spare components, you might purchase parts and send them back if they don’t resolve the problem. Amazon offers a fairly lenient return period. It isn’t ideal, but I had to handle it since I don’t have many backups.

I reside in the Netherlands, which means power interruptions are uncommon. I’m considering returning items but prefer it as a final option. I was wondering if anyone could provide information on measuring resistance or something comparable. Since I’ve handled disassembly before, opening parts shouldn’t be a problem.

You shouldn't access components while under warranty, as this typically cancels the protection. Just submit an RMA.

The warranty doesn't apply to this older power supply anymore.

It's the right moment to start fresh, since PSU gradually declines...
