Hi everyone,
I just built my first PC and am quite satisfied with most of it, but I’m facing a problem that still isn’t getting resolved...
PC specifications:
GPU: Asus Tuff 4080S OC
CPU: 7800X3D
Cooler: EK-Nucleas CR360 Lux RGB
Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX (rev 1.2)
RAM: 2x16gb G.Skill Trident Z5 Neo (EXPO)
PSU: Seasonic Vertex GX 1000w
SSD: Samsung 980 Pro 1tb
Case: H6 Flow
Occasionally my PC shuts down unexpectedly, sometimes it powers off completely but keeps the CPU and case fans running, and other times it just restarts automatically. I’m really confused and a bit exhausted because I’ve tried everything to solve this.
- Applied various Windows settings
- Switched GPU and PSU
- Replaced RAM and cooler
- Updated drivers
- Feeling nervous about making too many changes in BIOS, but tried some adjustments
- Reinstalled Windows several times
The unusual part is that these issues appear randomly; sometimes the shutdown works, other times it auto-reboots or only partially shuts down with the CPU, case, and RGB still active.
I reinstalled Windows about a week ago. For a week I used shift shutdown without problems, but it started again and left me confused about what to do next.
I really hope someone can assist or share tips, as I’ve searched extensively online for a solution.

Motherboard: Gigabyte B650 Aorus Elite AX (rev 1.2)
Which BIOS version is active on your motherboard?
Drivers updated
Did you rely on any third-party applications to notify updates, or did you compare with the one installed and the manufacturer's support page?
Windows reinstalled several times

I reinstalled win11 about a week ago
Where did you obtain the installer for your operating system? Did you install it offline? Were all necessary drivers updated using the latest versions in an elevated command?

Hi,
please accept my apologies for the confusion.
Bios is currently installed on FA4.
I downloaded it using the link https://www.microsoft.com/nl-nl/software.../windows11 onto a USB stick. Beforehand, I formatted the stick with fat32. I performed a clean installation from BIOS to boot directly onto the stick.
For drivers, I fetched motherboard drivers from the gigabyte website (audio/lan), chipset drivers from AMD, and GPU drivers from NVIDIA.
I’m not entirely sure what it means to install the latest driver versions in an elevated command. I’m not the most tech-savvy person when it comes to PCs.
I mainly use MSI Afterburner and HWinfo64. I’ve slightly undervolted my GPU (2800 at 1v) and also tried running it at 0.75v for a short time, thinking it might be pushing the limit and causing FPS drops. Although that might not be possible, it was my assumption.

I just observed a BIOS update waiting, so I updated it to the newest version, reset the CMOS, and checked to see if it affected anything.
