I own two PCs, one is quite old yet consistently functional, never experiencing crashes or malfunctions, though it’s outdated. The other is a gift from a friend but has encountered issues.
The main issue involves the monitor going completely black during certain games (full black screen, system still active but no sound or video). This happens with Red Dead 2, especially when playing for extended periods—either two minutes or hours before it crashes. Additionally, one of my sister’s games (low graphics settings) causes frequent crashes within about 20 minutes. Another odd occurrence was Red Dead 2 crashing right before I tried to save a file.
Switching the graphics card from a reliable one helped prevent the black screen, but it still caused crashes. I’m starting to suspect the motherboard might be the culprit rather than the graphics card, although it seems the CPU is fine. I’ve had a Blue Screen of Death before, but connected it to numerous reboots.
PSU
: In my opinion, the problem isn’t likely with the graphics card—it’s probably the motherboard or CPU. However, since I rarely play games, the PC still operates normally. I’ve confirmed the GPU is stress-tested and performing well, with temperatures never exceeding 75°C. The CPU hasn’t been stress-tested either. I’m also testing the RAM, just for fun.
Tomorrow I’ll try using the Grapich card on my old working PC to see if it resolves the issue, but for now I’m seeking advice or checks on what might be causing this.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
GPU- ASUS RX 64 vega
Have you attempted to replace another functional GPU in your friends' setup?
+
PSU- seasonic focus 850W 80+ gold
What is the age of the PSU in this configuration? If you aim to eliminate it as the main problem, consider swapping with another reliable, well-built PSU and observe if the issue continues.
+
Motherboard- gigabyte x470 AORUS ULTRA
Which BIOS version is installed on your motherboard?

Thank you for the warm welcome. I’ve changed the GPU, which seems to have made a difference—it’s not crashing the whole time, though it still causes issues sometimes. The game starts more smoothly now, and the crashes are less frequent. The GPU model is 1050ti, which appears to be weaker. I’ve been using the system for about five years with the PSU, and I’ve updated most components.

Hey there, did you fix your issue? I'm facing the same problem again and not sure how to proceed! After playing for 10-15 minutes, the display stops working even though the PC is still functional... Here are my specs in case you need them...
