Hi, your PC won't enter sleep mode even with the power button off. You have 3770 ASUS H61 with 8GB RAM and crucial memory, but it keeps freezing during shutdown. I've already reset the BIOS and checked PCIE settings in power management, but it still doesn't work.

When you activate the system, the fan typically starts immediately. If it doesn’t, it may be due to a power issue or a malfunction.

It seems to be located in the control panel, but I'm not sure where exactly.

On Windows, locate "Power options," choose it. In the panel, click "Choose what the power button does." Ensure the Power Button isn't set to "Do Nothing" for devices connected. Press "Save Settings" and test again. If the machine doesn't wake, run diagnostics via powercfg -energy in Command Prompt as administrator. It will check the sleep feature and create a report at C:\ (takes about 60 seconds). Please attach the generated file to your post. If you need further help, click "Full editor" and select "Attach Files" at the bottom.

Consider your setup first—this won’t solve the issue directly, but adjusting your Windows power plan to Balance can help. It lets the CPU run faster when needed while saving energy, keeping heat and noise low, and managing power use. Using High-Performance isn’t necessary since the CPU already manages its speed with OS support.

There are many errors reported, but they don’t necessarily indicate a major fault. The main concern is the desktop design; manufacturers often overlook sleep features, assuming all devices stay on or off. This can be problematic if it affects performance.

Your fans aren’t spinning up and the power indicator stays on when you press the power button, which suggests a possible motherboard issue. Try these steps: disable Hybrid Sleep in Power Options, set it to off and zero the time. Restart and see if it works.

Next, isolate the problem by unplugging all USB devices except the mouse and keyboard. Run powercfg -energy to check for errors. Put the system to sleep and restart. If it still doesn’t respond, disconnect any extra PCI or PCI-E cards, reset BIOS settings to disable unused features, and test again. If it still doesn’t wake up, the motherboard may be faulty.
