Check your BIOS for any disabled ports. If you're running Windows on an HDD, consider moving it to an SSD for quicker boot times and faster loading. Use the command I shared before to help extend your SSD's life. Updated on February 3, 2023 by WackySpace

I own a 250gb NVMe storage device. However, loading games is slow, so I switched to an NVMe for quicker performance.

Most don't. I haven't gotten a new formatted storage device before. Some boards block certain SATA ports when using M.2, and swapping those ports can help. WD Black drives run significantly faster than most. I own four or five of them and am really happy with them. They perform even better on USB 3.1/3.2. @Mark Kaine has one that outperforms my internal by roughly 10-20% in read/write speeds. Edited February 3, 2023 by An0maly_76 Updated, more info

Use zero if your motherboard or SSD doesn't support TRIM. Search for your SSD online to check compatibility.

This discussion involves several changes, but why would someone modify registry or command prompt settings? Trim is a built-in Windows feature (available in Windows 10) and doesn’t directly relate to detecting hard drives. You’re likely seeking information about Trim itself. To optimize a drive, you can use the File Explorer, right-click any drive, go to Properties, select Tools, and choose Optimize.
