The PC isn't reaching the login screen.
It began later this evening, but once I turn on my PC and reach the login screen just before you enter your password, I usually press a button and type in the details. Now it doesn’t lead to the login page. It freezes right before that, then after a minute it displays the same screen with the time and date. I’ve tried booting in safe mode, but it still prompts for the account password even though I’m certain of the correct ones. I’ve also reset the whole computer, yet it shows up the same screen when entering safe mode.
Password or PIN? The issue here is unclear because it could relate to different settings. The idea of “reset” seems to change based on who you ask. Clarifying your terms might help. I’d consider flushing the CMOS, which clears various settings and may be part of a reset, then quickly delete files after rebooting while watching the lights. This leads to BIOS access, not Windows. Once there, you can test for hardware problems. It’s possible there’s corruption in your Windows installation or even a failing drive. The account might simply be inactive. As someone I know said, “always make backups” — a good reminder!
Installation was spotless. The likely cause could be the drive or the saved file. You might want to check with crystaldiskinfo for any problems.
I’m unable to access the computer, which means I can’t operate any functions.
I've already attempted it, but it keeps refusing to accept the pin.
Are you running BitLocker? It seems the pin storage is malfunctioning. This issue was previously documented. It might be related to the drive or the backup settings. Create a new account. Updated: January 25, 2023 by Bombastinator
